Program Overview

The Adventure Awaits summer reading program runs
from Friday, June 14th through Friday, August 9th.
This program is open to all ages! Over the course of the summer, we'll have lots of special programs and activities happening at the library - be sure to stop by each week to see what's new!

No registration is required, and you are welcome to start participating at any point throughout the duration of the program. To get started, stop by the library to pick up a summer reading packet, or click on the box below to download a copy.
How the Summer Reading Program Works
We like to keep our summer reading program pretty simple - just read books and complete fun activities from a list we've created. For every book you read or activity you complete, you'll earn one entry into the prize drawing
of your choice.
Our prize drawings are virtual. That means you'll simply tally up all the entries you've earned over the course of the summer and tell us how many entries you want to put in your chosen prize drawing(s). We'll take care of the rest! You can go all in on one prize or spread your entries out across multiple prizes - it's up to you!
How much you want to participate in the summer reading program is up to you. You can keep things low-key and just read books of your choosing all summer, or you can challenge yourself to complete the activities and reading challenges we provide.

Join us on an adventure to restore
The Broken Blade of Berwickia!

The Blade of Berwickia has been broken and we need
your help to fix it!
This summer, we’ll travel throughout the land of Berwickia to find all the pieces of the blade and return them to the
Kingdom of Knowledge.
Each week, we’ll share a new chapter of The Broken Blade of Berwickia story, and we’ll have different crafts, programs, and activities at the library inspired by the various regions of Berwickia we’ll be visiting. You can participate in this interactive summer adventure in-person at the library, on our website by clicking the story blocks on the left, or a combination of both.
When you visit the library and complete a weekly activity as part of The Broken Blade of Berwickia story, you’ll earn a raffle ticket for a chance to win a pass to Monkey Mind Escape Rooms in Portsmouth, NH!
